A 'killer' weekend at IUP

Greensburg Salem graduate Michelle Jones leads the Indiana University of Pennsylvania women's volleyball team in kills. In 37 games, this 5-foot-10 senior outside hitter has recorded 133 kills for a 3.59 average per game.

IUP improved its record to 6-5 with victories over East Stroudsburg, Shippensburg and West Chester over the weekend. Jones led the Indians with 42 kills in the three matches.

Medalist at Clarion

Clarion's Justin Scott, a Gateway High School graduate, was named PSAC Golfer of the Week for his performance at the Hal Hansen Invitational, which was hosted by the Golden Eagles at Clarion Oaks Golf Club.

Scott, a senior, won medalist honors in a playoff to help Clarion claim the team title at the two-day event. Scott shot a two-day total 2-under par 142 and then won the playoff on the second hole.

He also registered the low round of the tournament, a 67, on the opening day.

The 5-under par first round tied a school record.
