We finally got those constant gardeners to show us their gardens. Now we need you humble homeowners to do the same.

Oct. 3 is the deadline for our new Renovation Inspiration home renovation contest, and we don't have many entries. If you have renovated a house 50 years or older in the past four years, you could be a winner.

Take a minute to fill out an entry form at www.post-gazette.com/homes, then shoot a few digital photos of your house (and maybe round up a few "before" photos). E-mail them to renovationcontest@post-gazette.com and you're done.

Six winners will get to go to a national preservation conference here in November and to all the city's house tours next year. They'll also receive a free professional design consultation from Community Design Center of Pittsburgh, the contest's co-sponsor. And, of course, they'll see their handiwork featured in the Post-Gazette.
