	Duquesne University Sam Ashaolu

Sam Ashaolu announced in May that he was transferring to Duquesne from Lake Region Community College in Devils Lake, N.D. The 6-7, 220-pound power forward averaged 16 points and six rebounds last year.

Ahsaolu, from Toronto, has two years of eligibility left. He is a cousin of former NBA star Hakeem Olajuwon of the Houston Rockets.

	Duquesne University Stuard Baldonado

Stuard Baldonado also signed a letter of intent in May to attend Duquesne. The 6-7, 225-pound power forward was coach Ron Everhart's second recruit.

The native of San Andres, Colombia, was a junior college All-American at Miami Dade College in Florida. He averaged nearly 19 points and 10 rebounds a game and was his conference's player of the year last season. "I don't think any one player can give a school instant credibility, but, if any player has a chance to do that, it's Baldonado,'' Everhart said at the time.

	Duquesne University Shawn James

Shawn James was Everhart's most heralded recruit. The 6-10, 210-pound center transferred from Boston's Northeastern University, where he played for Everhart for two years. Because he transferred from another NCAA Division I program, James has to sit out this season and will have two years of eligibility left.

Last year, he was the Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year after leading the nation in shots blocked at 6.53 per game. His 196 blocked shots were more than most Division I teams recorded last year.

	Duquesne University Kojo Mensah

Kojo Mensah is a guard who averaged nearly 17 points a game last year for Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y. Like James, Mensah, as a transfer student from a Division I school, has to sit out the upcoming season.

Mensah was a third-team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference guard last season. He is a walk-on player, ineligible for a scholarship until the 2007-2008 season. He also has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

	Duquesne University Aaron Jackson

Aaron Jackson is one of only two returning players from Duquesne's 3-24 team.

As a point guard last year, the 6-3 freshman averaged 6.8 points per game and was honored as the Atlantic 10 Conference rookie of the week in January. The Hartford, Conn., native also was second on the team in assists, with 3.6 per game.

He started 21 of the Dukes' 27 games.
