Robert Morris earned its first victory of the season with a convincing 35-14 win against host Butler (1-2) in Indianapolis.
The Colonials (1-2) were led by the 240-yard passing performance of quarterback Erik Cwalinski, who completed 18 of 26 pass attempts, four for touchdowns. His favorite receiver was Alvin Hill who caught six passes for 98 yards and one touchdown.
The score was tied, 14-14, at halftime. Robert Morris pulled away in the fourth quarter when Cwalinski threw a 38-yard scoring pass to Mario Hines and 18 yards to Hill for a score.
The victory snapped a seven-game Robert Morris losing streak. It was the Colonials' first win since defeating Wagner at home Oct. 8, 2005. It was the Colonials' first road victory since a triumph at Stony Brook Oct. 2, 2004.

Carnegie Mellon 33, Westminster 6: The Tartans (3-0) remained perfect by routing the Titans (0-2) in their first home game of the season. Carnegie Mellon was led by Kevin Mulkern, who threw two touchdown passes, completing 7 of 11 attempts for 130 yards. Westminster was held to 180 yards offense while giving up 451 total yards to Carnegie Mellon.
Washington & Jefferson 35, Hanover 0: Bobby Swallow completed 90 percent of his pass attempts (18 for 20) to lead the Presidents (2-1) to a rout of host Hanover, Ind. Swallow threw for 210 yards and four touchdowns. Tom McCafferty caught two of the touchdown passes, covering 29 and 10 yards.
Bloomsburg 28, Edinboro 10: The NCAA Division II No. 12 Huskies (3-0) snapped the Fighting Scots' six-game winning streak which host Edinboro (1-2) began last season. The Scots led, 10-7, going into the fourth quarter before Bloomsburg running back Jamar Brittingham got free on touchdown runs of 1, 3 and 5 yards.
California 43, Cheyney 8: The Vulcans (2-1) rushed for 279 yards and had 483 yards total offense in the win at Cheyney (0-3). Brandon Lombardy rushed 10 times for 98 yards and three scores for California.
IUP 35, East Stroudsburg 20: Chris Morgan rushed for 286 yards to break his own single-game record of 266 in leading IUP (2-0) to the victory at IUP's Miller Stadium. Morgan scored on runs of 52 and 51 yards. IUP had 511 yards total offense.
Slippery Rock 46, Mansfield 0: Nate Crookshank passed for a career-high 336 yards and two scores in leading the Rock (2-1) to the easy home victory. Crookshank was 17 of 25 passing. Luke Wetzel caught seven passes for 120 yards and teammate Paul Fevers had four receptions for 127 yards.
West Chester 49, Clarion 21: West Chester (1-2) scored 22 consecutive points in the second half in the win at Clarion (0-3). Mark Rupert was 14 of 29 passing for 302 yards for Clarion.
Albion 24, Thiel 20: Albion rallied with 14 unanswered points to defeat host Thiel. The Tomcats (2-1) lost despite 102 yards rushing by tailback Steve Minton.
Thomas More 21, Grove City 20: Thomas More quarterback Trevor Stellman fired a 16-yard touchdown pass to Chase Weber with 2:21 left to lead the visitors to a Presidents' Athletic Conference win against the Wolverines (0-2, 0-1).
Wesley 49, Seton Hill 13: The Griffins (1-3) lost in Dover, Del. despite a 142-yard rushing performance by Antwarn Jones. Seton Hill was held to 68 yards passing and committed five turnovers.
Allegheny 52, Hiram 7: The Gators (2-1) scored 35 points in the third quarter to rout Hiram (0-3). Allegheny had 602 yards in total offense, including 302 through the air by quarterback Jimmy Savage, a single-game career best.
Wayne State 35, Mercyhurst 31: Joique Bell's 39-yard touchdown run with 90 seconds left in the game provided Wayne State (1-2) with a thrilling victory in Detroit. Bell finished with 318 yards rushing and four touchdowns. Bell's other scoring runs covered 16, 34 and 60 yards. Mitch Phillips led the Lakers (0-3) with 219 yards passing and two touchdowns. Mercyhurst led 28-21 at halftime.
Indianapolis 49, Gannon 14: Indianapolis (2-2, 2-1) claimed an easy victory in Erie against host Gannon (0-3, 0-3). The winning Greyhounds held a huge advantage in first downs (25-14) and total yards (460-271). Matt Butler passed for 185 yards to lead Gannon, but he was sacked five times. The Knights were outgained 460-271.
Shenandoah 20, Waynesburg 10: The Yellow Jackets (0-3) blew a 10-0 halftime lead at home to Shenandoah (1-2). Waynesburg is winless after three games for the first time since 1999. Shenandoah was held to four first downs and 119 yards offense, but Waynesburg only had 197 yards offense and committed five turnovers.
