Question: Was the front office disappointed in the results of its past draft? It seems that after Willie Colon, they have nothing to show for it. I think they are giving up on Omar Jacobs way too soon. Brian St. Pierre will never amount to anything, as they cut him already. How about a little patience here for a number three quarterback?

BOUCHETTE: They waived four of their nine draft picks and another could be waived when they sign a quarterback from their practice squad Thursday. It's possible that center Marvin Philip, a sixth-round choice, might go because they have three pure centers on their roster. Those four picks were paid $527,000 in signing bonuses. Teams never want to cut fourth-round picks, as the Steelers did for the second straight year, this time defensive end Orien Harris. But remember that this is a Super Bowl team and not the Houston Texans, so naturally there would be fewer jobs available. Three of those four rookie draft picks released signed to their practice squad -- Jacobs, Harris and halfback Cedric Humes. So, in a sense, they lost only tight end Charles Davis, a fifth-round pick.
