This year's annual Labor Day Parade not only celebrated the labor movement, it also honored the late Mayor Bob O'Connor, who lay in state at the City-County Building until last night.
As the parade route passed in front of the City-County Building, union members and marching bands alike fell silent to honor and remember the fallen mayor inside.
Along the side of the parade route, many spoke of the loss that the city has suffered and of the man who came to be known as "everybody's mayor."
