THE SKINNY: Two years ago, Paskorz became one of the few sophomores to make the Post-Gazette Fabulous 22. Rushed for more than 2,000 yards as a sophomore, but was slowed last year by an ankle injury and had "only" 1,291 yards on 160 attempts. Has 3,478 career yards. Had offseason surgery on the ankle and believes he could have another big season. Was recruited by colleges as both a linebacker and running back. Rivals.com ranks him the No. 17 "athlete" player in the country. Paskorz is a former national Punt, Pass and Kick champion.
COLLEGE TALK: Paskorz made a verbal commitment to Notre Dame in the spring, turning down offers from Pitt, Michigan, Virginia and Iowa, among others. Notre Dame plans to use him as a linebacker, but Paskorz said coach Charlie Weis also wants to give him a try at running back.
FAVORITE FOOD: "Any type of chicken."
LAST CONCERT ATTENDED: "I've never been to a concert."
WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT FROM STEVE PASKORZ THIS SEASON?: "My ankle is a lot stronger and I have that burst of speed back again. I'm able to cut. My speed may not be totally where it was, but as the season goes on it will progressively get better. I plan on being the old Steve Paskorz. I might even start out the season as the old Steve Paskorz."
HOW GOOD CAN HAMPTON BE?: "It all depends on how hard we work. We're really lacking the size that we had last year, so it all depends on how hard we work in practice."
PERSON YOU'D MOST LIKE TO MEET: "Carmen Electra. She's a beautiful lady."
PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO KNOW THAT YOU...? "Hunt and fish. I'm an outdoors type of person."
