Mayor Bob O'Connor remained in stable condition in intensive care at UPMC Shadyside yesterday afternoon, recovering from surgery Sunday to drain fluid from his brain.

The mayor's medical team reported that he received his third methotrexate treatment Monday evening for primary central nervous system lymphoma and was tolerating the treatment well.

The mayor is expected to remain in intensive care for at least a few days, according to Clare Collins, UPMC spokeswoman.
