Suspect caught in Speers robbery, one sought
Tuesday, August 08, 2006

One man was arrested for robbing a pizza shop in Speers early today and a second man was being sought, police said.

Charleroi police Superintendent Armand Constantino said the two suspects were former employees of Campy's Pizzeria on Pennsylvania Avenue who showed up there as customers to buy beer. One of the men returned minutes later, trying to conceal his identity with a hooded sweatshirt, and demanded money from the cashier.

The man struck the female employee several times with a club, grabbed money and fled, Superintendent Constantino said. After the employee called police at 12:09 a.m. and described the men, Monessen police stopped a car driven by Nathan Dzimiera of Monessen, in his early 20s.

He was arrested and charged with robbery, and Superintendent Constantino said police were searching for the second man who was with him previously. He was identified as George Gereshenski, in his early 20s, of Charleroi.

The employee suffered bumps to her head, but did not require medical treatment.
