The Steelers and their fans moved the scene of training camp action yesterday from St. Vincent College campus to Latrobe High School's Latrobe Stadium for the annual goal-line drill.
Hours before the practice session the faithful were lining up in sweltering August heat for the autograph session.
When the Steelers arrived at Latrobe Stadium at 6:45 p.m., the heat index on the field was 100 degrees.
One point of the drill is simple enough: hitting hard.
And fans were not dissappointed.
It was the first time the Steelers have been involved in tackling since the Super Bowl -- and a thunderous hit on running back Verron Haynes near the end of the practice showed that somebody had not lost their edge.
"I thought it was a good night's work," said head coach Bill Cowher.
