Summer Times 2: Festivals -- All's fair in August

The biggest festival of the late summer, the Greater Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival, went down this year, due to lack of funds.

But there is still plenty of festivity, as we're right in the middle of county fair season.

JULY

FAYETTE COUNTY FAIR: The PovertyNeck Hillbillies take the stage at 7:45 p.m. July 30 and 8 p.m. Aug. 3; up-and-coming band Trick Pony performs at 8 p.m. July 28. There is a Demolition Derby, 7 p.m. July 27 and Aug. 1 and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 5, and Monster Truck Races and the 2 Wheel Drive Quad Mud races 7 p.m. Aug. 1.
