Guards Mike Gansey and Chris Quinn signed contracts with the Miami Heat yesterday and will be with the team when it opens Pro Summer League play next week in Orlando, Fla.
Gansey averaged 14.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.75 steals in 68 games the past two seasons at West Virginia. Quinn, a three-year starter at Notre Dame, averaged 14.6 points, 3.5 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.27 steals in 122 games in his four-year career, including a team-best 17.7 points this past season.

The Mavericks plan to trade Marquis Daniels to the Pacers for Austin Croshere. The deal cannot become official until Wednesday, when teams can complete trades and sign free agents.
Adam Morrison, the No. 3 overall pick in last month's draft, signed with the Bobcats. Morrison will be paid about $3 million in the first year of the deal and nearly $3.25 million in the second year under terms of the rookie pay scale. The team has the option to renew the contract in the third and fourth years.
The Maryland judge who last month ruled Steve Belkin is entitled to buy the Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Thrashers from his former co-owners added a new twist to the ongoing feud. Montgomery County (Md.) Circuit Court Judge Eric Johnson ruled the current ownership and management team should retain control while the appeals are heard.
The Celtics exercised the options on point guard Sebastian Telfair and three others, then signed undrafted free agent Allan Ray of Villanova. Telfair, along with forward Al Jefferson and guards Delonte West and Gerald Green, will remain under contract through the 2007-08 season.
