All-Star Moments: July 15, 2003, 74th Game at U.S. Cellular Field, Chicago
Wednesday, July 05, 2006

The American League rallied from a four-run deficit and defeated the National League, 7-6, before a crowd of 47,609. Texas Rangers third baseman Hank Blalock hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning to cap the scoring. It was the sixth win in the past seven All-Star Games for the AL.

Anaheim Angels outfielder Garret Anderson went 3 for 4 with a double and a two-run homer to earn MVP honors. He won the Home Run Derby a night earlier.

Reliever Mike Williams was the lone Pirates representative but he did not play.

As we draw closer to this year's All-Star Game July 11 at PNC Park, we will count down -- game by game -- to the 77th Midsummer Classic.
