Season series: Mets lead, 2-0.

Three things to know about the Mets: 1. Were 16-8 in April and haven't looked back, capitalizing on a weak National League East to increase their five-game lead June 1 to 11 1/2 games through Saturday. 2. Third baseman David Wright has become a star. He hit 10 home runs and had 29 RBIs in June, then picked up two more RBIs Saturday night. 3. Glavine hasn't lost in 12 starts since April 24. He's 9-0 with three no-decisions in those 12 starts.

The Pirates' key to success: Perhaps the Mets have become complacent with their huge lead in the NL East. They've played rather indifferently recently. Through Saturday night, they were just 6-9 over a 15-game span.

The intangible: Trachsel, who has won five consecutive starts for the first time in his career, left the game Saturday night after aggravating a tight right groin he said has bothered him for the past couple weeks.

On deck: Pirates play three games at Philadelphia.
