'Commander in Chief: Inaugural Edition'

Let the impeachment proceedings begin.

If ever there was a series crying out for commentary, from any/all of the three executive producers who ran this show in the course of its single season on the air, "Commander in Chief" ($29.99, Buena Vista Home Entertainment) begs to be explained. How could such a promising pilot go wrong? Was it network meddling that killed the show or a lack of vision on the part of the executive producers? Why did no one tell star Geena Davis that the president needs to do more than pout and glower?

Alas, no extras whatsoever on this "two-disc inaugural edition," which comprises the first 10 episodes of the series. A flier inside the DVD box promises the balance of episodes will be released this fall. Let's hope fans get some answers to lingering questions about the show's short life on that release.
