The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful
Star vs. Bar, Berry vs. Benet and Jacko goes Euro
Wednesday, June 28, 2006
Oooh child, things may not be getting better or easier, but the dish sure is getting juicier. The gloves are off, the claws are out and it's about to be on.

But, hey, we got you!

You got a ringside seat in this edition of the GBB.

Star Jones Reynolds and Barbara Walters may no longer be talking to each other, but they sure are talking enough about each other.

BW, in full ice queen mode, told "The View" viewers Wednesday that the show had planned to let Star leave with dignity but she "made a different choice."

Ouch!

Star wasn't even on the show yesterday because ABC told her not to come back after she announced Tuesday on "The View" that she would be leaving in July.

That news bomb caught everybody off guard including Barbara, who said Wednesday that she and Star had agreed to wait til Thursday to disclose Star's departure.

Barbara was mad as a hornets nest about Star's "People" mag interview in which Star said she felt she was fired because her contract was not being renewed.

BW is a television news queen, and you know when the queen's not happy, heads will roll.

Barbara, having an "oh no she didn't moment," told AP that she felt "betrayed" by Star. She went on to say that research showed folks were no longer feeling Star, who took a lot of flak for her Bridezilla wedding.

On Ryan Secrest's morning radio show Wednesday, Star said, "If anyone should feel betrayed it should be me."

Star obviously decided to go out on her own terms instead of pretending she hadn't already been kicked to the curb.

Girl, we aint mad at ya!

We're not even mad at cheating Eric Benet, who takes some verbal swings at ex-wife Halle Berry, after the Oscar-winning actress takes another swipe at him in a recent interview.

Halle apparently told "In Touch" magazine that she "finds it difficult to pay money to a man who cheated on me, like, 27 times."

So, Eric contacted Liz Smith of the New York Post to vent. He said he admitted his indiscretion and apologized but Halle is grossly exaggerating the situation.

The R&B crooner went on to say that Halle hasn't seen his daughter, India, in a couple years even though she claimed to love the child like her own daughter.

"I so don't want to go down this road and say things about Halle in anger and frustration," Eric said. "But I can't just keep letting these snipes and lies continue in the media without commenting."

Obviously not.

Nobody asked us, but we think these two need to stop putting their business in the street.

Halle's got a new man. Eric's got a new CD. Move on, people!

While we're on the subject of ex-husbands, J.Lo's first hubby, Ojani Noa, is planning to write one of those tell-all books about their brief marriage.

But La Lopez's lawyers will be in court Friday arguing for an injunction to keep him from doing it.

Their divorce agreement reportedly included a settlement in which Jennifer's ex was not supposed to reveal any personal details about the singer/actress.

Might we suggest to you, Ojani, that you get a life and get a job?

Remember, it's just a suggestion. But, seriously, you might want to think about that, brother man.

Talk about moving on, Michael Jackson is reportedly leaving Bahrain for Europe to get his finances together.

His spokeswoman Raymone Bain said the move is part of a "sweeping restructuring" of Michael's professional management and direction.

He's gotten rid of his old money handler and hired L. Londell McMillan, who takes care of Prince's and Stevie Wonder's money.

This whole shakeup is happening as the gloved one goes through yet another trial.

He's being sued by former partner Marc Schaffel for $4 million.

Believe it or not, things could be worse, Michael. Music producer Dallas Austin, the man behind hits for everyone from TLC to Aretha Franklin, was ordered to stand trial Sunday in Dubai on drug charges.

Dallas, 34, has been in jail there since May when he flew in to attend Naomi Campbell's 36th birthday bash. Guess she found time to party in between beating the maids down with her cell phone.

Anyway, Dallas was caught at the airport with a small amount of cocaine and other drugs.

He could be sentenced to up to four years in jail.

TMZ.com is reporting that George Clooney is romancing Linda Thompson, the former Mrs. Bruce Jenner, who used to make beautiful music with her now-ex-husband composer David Foster, before which she was known as Elvis's last girlfriend.

The two have been seen hanging out at the posh Villa D'Este resort in Italy. George has a villa there, you know.

Just last week, he was photographed with his light switch (on and off) girlfriend Krista Allen.

Let's pretend that we care about Paris Hilton and tell you that she's denounced fur.

After viewing a PETA tape of animal cruelty at a Chinese fur farm, the heiress said she will no longer wear fur, reports Fashionwatch.com.

Since we're talking about what to wear, Burberry has forgiven professional clothes strutter Kate Moss's little drug indiscretion last year and welcomed her back into the fold.

You remember Kate got in trouble when London's Daily Mirror published pics of her allegedly using cocaine. At that time Burberry pulled the model from its ads. She apologized and headed straight to rehab.

Kate's back with Burberry this year, appearing in ads for the fall campaign.

Tomorrow GBB will be in the house at the R&B Foundation Awards in Philadelphia. Patti LaBelle and Smokey Robinson will host, and Bonnie Raitt and Paul Schaffer are scheduled to appear, as are Ashford & Simpson.

The fabulous Delfonics, dance craze hit maker Chubby Checker, soulstress Bettye LaVette and music industry icon Barry Gordy are among the honorees.

In the words of the legendary Don Cornelius, "It's gonna be a stone gas, honey."
