A 17-year-old North Side boy was grazed in the head by a bullet yesterday when someone fired at least 12 shots across from an elementary school in Brighton Heights.
Pittsburgh police said Gerard Harrison was shot with a .45-caliber handgun in the 1600 block of Davis Avenue. The shooting occurred shortly after 6 p.m. directly across from the playground area of John Morrow Elementary School.
Police said Mr. Harrison apparently had a dispute with the suspects.
Mr. Harrison was walking on the sidewalk when a vehicle pulled up and someone fired at least 12 shots, police said. One of the shots struck Mr. Harrison and several others struck the windows of two parked vehicles.
The victim then ran into a house at 1610 Davis Ave. Police and emergency personnel took him to Allegheny General Hospital.
