There's more to the Three Rivers Arts Festival than the food, performance and artists market clustered near the Point, including the excellent "Pittsburgh's Best 2006" exhibition and the aesthetically pleasing 7th hole of "LIONS, TIGERS, AND GROUNDHOGS ... OH MY!" by Nick Hohman, both at 937 Liberty Ave.

Also at 937 and worthy of a walk on its own is Richard Parsakian's fabulous storefront installation "LOVE LOST LANDSCAPE," a retro display that maintains the festival's golf theme but is given a spin typical of productions by the multitalented Eons owner who's lent his flair with design to dance and theater performance as well as to the festival's past storefront presentations. Vintage costumes, scatterings of colored balls and tees, revolving golf club mobiles and more come together in this surreal vision.
Other things to check out along the way are the two public artworks by Reinhard Reitzenstein -- at Stanwix and Penn, and in Garrison Place between Liberty and Penn avenues -- and Chris Garofalo's fanciful ceramics installation at 707 Penn Avenue.
If you have a cell phone, you can listen to artists Leslie Ansley and Monique Luck reflecting upon the works in their collaborative installation, "Something Borrowed, Something Blue," at Future Tenant, 801 Liberty Ave. The audio tour is part of an equipment trial provided by the gallery in conjunction with the West Coast company Guide by Cell.
In the back lobby of Dominion Tower, 625 Liberty Ave., is the cheerful quilt project "Common Ground," which was directed by artists Adrienne Heinrich and Tina Williams Brewer. Members of two congregations -- St. Charles Lwanga Parish of Homewood and Mother of Sorrows Parish of Murrysville -- revived the tradition of oral histories while sharing fiber work and stories.
Finally, Tony Balko has placed a somewhat minimalist light work, inspired by the overload of daily visual stimuli, in the window of 941 Penn Ave., next to the Pittsburgh Marriott.
