CLUB MEETINGS

Cranberry -- The MOMS Club of Cranberry North, for at-home mothers, will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Fountain Park Church on Peters Road. Activities for children and moms. Call Carrie at 724-473-8180.

Butler -- Pennsylvania State Police will hold a free child safety seat check from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Baglier Buick, 248 Pittsburgh Road.

FUND-RAISERS

Butler -- Butler County Humane Society will hold the Woof and Whisker Walk June 10 at the Deal shelter in Butler Memorial Park, rain or shine. Registration begins at 9 a.m.; the 2-mile fun walk begins at 10 a.m. Activities are planned for dogs, adults and children. Dogs must be 6 months old and have a license. Refreshments will be served. GOLF

Richland -- St. Richard Church men's group will hold a golf outing for men and women at 2 p.m. next Sunday at Buffalo Valley Country Club in Freeport, Armstrong County. Cost is $75 and includes cart rental, lunch and dinner. Register by calling 724-444-1971.

Butler -- Rocky Bleier, former Pittsburgh Steelers running back, will participate in the St. Barnabas Charitable Foundation Golf Open June 5 at Butler Country Club. Registration is $375 per player; choose from the morning field, beginning at 7:45 a.m., or afternoon field, starting at 12:45 p.m. Price includes 18 holes of golf, carts, lunch, beverages, unlimited range balls, cocktails and awards dinner. Butler -- Hope Hospice will host the Estelle Blanchard Hospice Charity Golf Classic June 9 at Butler County Club, 310 Country Club Road. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m.; tee times will begin at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $325 per person and includes cart, box lunch, golf shirt and dinner. Tickets to dinner only are $75. Slippery Rock -- Kenny Ross Chevrolet in Zelienople will sponsor the Black and Blue Alumni and Friends Golf Outing, beginning at 1 p.m. June 10 at 160 Ralston Road. McCandless -- Dr. Steven A. Ahrendt will talk about new advances in the treatment of colon cancer from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Donor Hall, UPMC Passavant, 9100 Babcock Blvd. The talk is one of series about cancer. It's free, but registration is required. Call 1-800-533-8762, choose option 1.

LIBRARIES

Harrison -- The Community Library of Allegheny Valley, 1522 Broadview Blvd., Natrona Heights, will hold a vintage fashion show from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Refreshments will be served. Tickets are $2. Registration is required, call 724-226-3491.

Saxonburg -- Saxonburg Area Library, 240 Main St., will offer a class in making albums and keepsake book covers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 22. Registration deadline is Thursday. MEMORIAL DAY

Harmony/Zelienople -- American Legion Post 474 of Zelienople will hold a Memorial Day service at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at the square, with a ceremony, military salute and taps. The legion will also hold a service at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park, Main and Grandview streets. Seneca Valley band will perform and retired Army Lt. Col. Susan Oliver, state Sen. Jane Orie, R-McCandless, and Mayor Tom Oliverio will speak.

Richland -- Richland American Legion Post 548 will hold a Memorial Day tribute to veterans from 10:15 to 11 a.m. tomorrow at Richland Community Park, off Van Velsor Road. The ceremony will include a parade, flag raising and oratory by students of Pine-Richland School District. A fire team salute and rendition of taps will conclude the program. Light refreshments will be served.

PRESCHOOLS

Richland -- Bakerstown United Methodist Church, Route 8 at Dickey Road, is introducing half-day preschool classes in the fall. Curriculum will be based on context of Christian faith and values and include basic computer skills and fine arts. Separate classes will be offered for 3- and 4-year-olds. RECREATION

Marshall -- Applications are available beginning on Thursday for the township's summer recreation program to be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 13 through July 8 at different sites. Programs are for children who have completed first grade and up. Activities will include arts and crafts, team sports and group recreation. Cost is $10 for the four weeks. No programs on July 4. SPORTS

Jackson -- Seneca Valley North Soccer and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds soccer team will hold a youth soccer camp from 9 a.m. to noon June 5-8 at Seneca Valley High School upper soccer fields. Children ages 5-18 will receive in-depth instruction by Riverhounds players and coaches. Participants will receive a ball, T-shirt and ticket to a future Riverhounds game. Fees vary from $60 to $125.
