The Historic Review Commission of Pittsburgh has honored 10 preservation projects.

The renovation and restoration sites are the chapel and altar at Little Sisters of the Poor, Brighton Heights; the fountain and entry gardens at Highland Park; the entrance at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens; Ibiza, a restaurant on the South Side; the 900-seat auditorium at Central Catholic High School in Oakland; the facade of 502 W. North Avenue, Central North Side; the facade of a commercial building at 3801 Penn Ave., Lawrenceville; the interior of 4400 Butler St., a combined apartment and commercial space in Lawrenceville; 4901 Penn Ave., Garfield; and the Union Project in Highland Park.

The Union Project also received a state Historic Preservation Initiative Award from Preservation Pennsylvania.

The Union Project occupied what had been a vacant church at Stanton and Negley avenues four years ago and now has a $3 million capital and operating budget. The project is restoring the stained glass windows by holding classes in stained-glass restoration and rents meeting space and studio space for artists.
