A North Side man plans to honor his mother's memory by covering adoption fees for all animals placed by the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society tomorrow, Mother's Day.
David Brand has offered to pay fees for animals adopted or applied for tomorrow at the society's two shelters to remember his mother, animal lover Eileen "Laurie Dazz'' Brand, society Executive Director Lee Nesler said. The shelters are at 1101 Western Ave., North Side, and on Fallen Timber Road in Elizabeth Township and will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Those adopting pets still must purchase a $25 annual membership to use the society's veterinary clinic, Ms. Nesler said , but applications completed on Mother's Day qualify for Mr. Brand's offer.
You can view all adoptable animals by going to the society's website at wpahumane.org.
