Submit your question to Rob Owen

This week's TV Q&A responds to questions about "Ghost Whisperer," "7th Heaven" and a TV news sweeps critique.

As always, thanks for reading, and keep those questions coming.

-- Rob Owen, Post-Gazette TV editor

Q: Will the season finale of "7th Heaven" be shown again? I missed it.

-- Rachelle, Plano, Tex.

Rob: Yes, it airs again Monday at 8 p.m. on The WB.

Q: I am wondering if any decision has been made on the renewal of the show "What About Brian" on ABC. It took an episode or two to get hooked but it was worth watching.

-- Robin Ferrari, Pittsburgh

Rob: ABC will announce its renewals next week, but I don't expect "Brian" will be among them.

Q: Is the series "Heist" on NBC returning?

-- Jeff, Monongahela

Rob: NBC will announce its renewals next week, but I don't expect "Heist" will be among them.

Q: After seeing the season finale of "Ghost Whisperer," I am wondering if Aisha Tyler is planning on leaving the show for good. Or, do they plan on using her character as a permanent ghost?

-- Mike, Pittsburgh

Rob: I wondered about this, too.

"We're thrilled that people were taken by surprise by the season finale's cliffhanger ending, and we've been inundated with questions about Andrea (Aisha Tyler) ever since," said "Ghost Whisperer" executive producer Ian Sander in a prepared statement. "All we'll reveal is that if you think you know what's happening next season -- think again. With 'Ghost Whisperer,' the possibilities are endless."

I've heard Tyler will be back next season.

Q:I cannot find any of your opinions on "Deal or No Deal" with Howie Mandel as the host. I am a late comer to this show and find it addicting. Wanted to know how it's doing in the ratings and if the critics, read you, liked it.

-- Patty, Pittsburgh

Rob: I reviewed the show in December (Tuned In: Howie Mandel gambles on 'Deal or No Deal' ) and put it on the TV book cover in February (TV Previews: Sitcoms rise again). The show is a ratings hit for NBC and will be back in the fall.

Q: Rob, I have to disagree with your claim in Friday's PG that David Highfield's report on deer repellents "steered clear of sweeps month sensation." Maybe it's the way he usually talks, but he overly exaggerated the most mundane remedies to make them sound unimaginable and strange: Bailing twine! Hair! Pie tins!, Powdered repellents! Dried blood! Big deal!

It's stuff most people already know about or would find at the store. Even the poor salesman at Best Feeds had to keep reiterating what each product did: REPEL DEER! WE GOT IT! Sheesh!

-- Mel, E. Pittsburgh

Rob: I'll easily admit that when it comes to inoffensive consumer stories, I go pretty easy on local stations (I have to say something nice sometime). True, the information may be widely known -- Wash your hands to keep from getting sick! Duh. -- but a reminder, packaged in a new way, won't do any harm.

As for Highfield's report, perhaps I was interested because I could relate: My parents get deer in their back yard and a couple years ago my father started hanging pie tins. My brother and I laughed, but I guess Dad had the right idea. Maybe he even started hanging pie tins after seeing a TV news sweeps report.
