Brick repair and replacement is scheduled to take place Downtown again this weekend, on Grant Street between Fourth and Sixth avenues and on Fifth Avenue between Cherry Way and Ross Street.

Grant Street southbound will be restricted to a single lane. Northbound drivers will be sent on a short detour around the job site from 6:30 p.m. today to 6 a.m. Monday.

During the same hours, all Fifth Avenue traffic will be detoured around the block.

Sixteen Port Authority bus routes will be affected, including a number of stops.

Public Works Director Guy Costa said work will continue on a number of weekends, but not necessarily every weekend, depending on weather and Downtown events.

Meanwhile, one lane of 11th Street between Penn Avenue and Smallman, near the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, will be closed Monday through Friday next week for concrete slab replacements. Traffic will be maintained but could be slow at peak periods.
