ART

Peters -- Works by more than 40 photography class students and photo club members at Peters Township High School will be on display Thursday through May 12 in the main lobby at Peters Township Public Library, 616 E. McMurray Road.

Washington -- The Washington and Jefferson College Senior Show will open from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Olin Fine Arts Gallery, 285 E. Wheeling St. Admission is free.

Charleroi -- The annual Regional Juried Exhibition begins from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Charleroi Art and History Center, 501 McKean Ave. Regular gallery hours will be 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays through May 27.

CLASSES

North Strabane -- Canonsburg General Hospital will offer a basic first aid course from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Those completing the course can receive a two-year American Heart Association certification. A $25 fee includes a manual. Call 1-877-284-2000 to register.

Peters -- The community recreation center, 700 Meredith Drive, will offer Pilates mat classes at 9 a.m. Tuesdays and 6 p.m. Wednesdays through June 22. Also available will be Pilates core conditioning for men at 7 p.m. Wednesdays through June 21. To register for either class, call 724-747-0537.

CONCERTS

Washington -- The W&J Jazz Ensemble will perform at 8 p.m. Friday at Washington and Jefferson College's Olin Fine Arts Center, 285 E. Wheeling St. Free admission.

Washington -- Classic country music will be featured in the 8 p.m. Saturday concert by Washington Symphony Orchestra at Washington Park School, 801 E. Wheeling St. Tickets cost $12 for adults and $8 for senior citizens (65 or older), students and children. For information, call 724-223-9796.

FUND-RAISERS

Washington -- Participants can take turns Wednesday pushing a six-foot red ball through Washington to help raise food for the LeMoyne Center Food Pantry. Canned foods can be deposited at any point along the route from the Washington High School parking lot to the LeMoyne Center. There will be free food, T-shirts and music. The ball begins to roll at 3 p.m. from the parking lot, then continues to the center by 5 p.m. Costumes are welcome. Call 724-222-1475 for information on route and times.

North Strabane -- The Dazzling Mills Family, who perform comedy, unicycling, juggling and other feats, will be featured at the 7:30 p.m. Friday family entertainment night at Thomas Presbyterian Church, 1068 Linden Road. Proceeds will benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina. Tickets cost $5 each.

HEALTH

Washington -- A free lecture series on Alzheimer's disease and dementia will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays through May 17 in The Washington Hospital Community Room. Topics include care-giver legal issues, communication techniques and the latest medical research information. To register, call 724-229-2658.

Also at the hospital, the joint center will hold an open house and information session about knee and hip replacement surgery from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. It includes a tour of the hospital's related areas. Call 724-223-3541.

RELIGION

Cecil -- St. John Baptist Church, of Lawrence, will celebrate the 30th service anniversary of its senior pastor, the Rev. Melvin Wilson, with a banquet at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh/Southpointe. Today is the deadline to buy tickets. Cost is $35. Call 724-223-0445. An anniversary service is set for 10 a.m. next Sunday in the same location. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Jerome Wilson, pastor of Way of the Cross Church of the Living God, Harrisburg. Attendance is free.

SALES

Hickory -- Gardening Day will be celebrated with a sale of garden items, including plants, birdhouses, steppingstones, signs, garden art and more, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Hickory United Presbyterian Church, 210 Main St. There also will be a silent auction. Lectures will include landscape design, herbs, garden wildlife, water gardening and others. Those attending may chose any or all lectures for a total of $10. Demonstrations also will be given. SUPPORT GROUPS

North Strabane -- Canonsburg General Hospital will offer a bereavement series from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays through June 14 in the chapel.

A diabetes support group will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in McNary Conference Center.
