ART

Peters -- Nine members of the McMurray Art League are exhibiting works through May 25 at Peters Township Public Library, 616 E. McMurray Road. A portion of each sale benefits the library.

CONCERTS

California -- Free public concerts are planned for California University of Pennsylvania:

The university choir will perform its annual spring concert at 6 p.m. today in the chapel of Old Main.

Opera arias, selections from musical theater and Frank Sinatra favorites will be part of a recital for baritone voice and piano by Stephen and Kelly Ball at 8 p.m. tomorrow in Gallagher Music Center Recital Hall.

Violinist Esther Yuan-Wagner will perform at 8 p.m. next Sunday in Gallagher.

DINING OUT

Finleyville -- Spaghetti dinners will be served from 3 to 7 p.m. next Sunday at First Presbyterian Church of Finleyville, 3595 Washington Ave. Costs will be $6 in advance and $7 at the door. Children 8 or younger will be charged $4. For tickets, call 724-348-5689.

Avella -- Teachers, administration and school staff of the Avella School District will cook, serve and entertain at a 4-7 p.m. Thursday spaghetti dinner at Avella Junior Senior High School cafeteria. Tickets cost $5 each at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Avella Public Library.

FUND-RAISERS

Finleyville -- St. Francis of Assisi Parish will have a night at the races Friday in Finley Hall. A buffet dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.; races will begin at 7:30. A $5 admission includes food and beverages. There will be raffles and door prizes. A $10 ticket includes the same plus a horse. It is sponsored by the Christian Mothers and Ladies Guild. HEALTH

North Strabane -- The Creighton Model Fertility Care System will be discussed at 7 p.m. Tuesday in McNary Conference Center at Canonsburg General Hospital. To register or for information, call 1-877-284-2000.

ON STAGE

Washington -- "The Orchard," an adaptation of Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard," will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday in Olin Fine Arts Center at Washington and Jefferson College, 285 E. Wheeling St. Admission is free.

SENIORS

Charleroi -- Senior citizens can get help with state forms and applications from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on the last Wednesday of each month through July at Charleroi Senior Center, 538 McKean Ave. A member of state Rep. SOCIAL

Washington -- Brian Reedy, of the National Park Service, will speak on Braddock's Campaign: Myths and Legends at the 6 p.m. May 5 annual banquet of the Washington County Historical Society at the Elks Club, 138 E. SPECIAL INTEREST

South Park -- Oliver Miller Homestead, Stone Manse Drive, will hold a barn dedication and opening day celebration from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. next Sunday. Spring chores will be done inside and outside. Gardens will be prepared for planting. Period crafts and trades will be demonstrated. Tours will be available. Admission is $1. Call 412-835-1554.

Monessen -- Mon Valley Branch NAACP will hold a free candidates' forum at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Mon Valley Health Center, Eastgate 8. Candidates from all political parties are welcome. Candidates from Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties who have not received an invitation may call 724-684-8545 to attend. Voters will meet with candidates and ask questions. Food and beverages will be provided.
