Trampolines

Stamina Products Inc. is recalling about 668,000 InMotion trampolines. If a person assembles the trampoline alone and the outside rail is released momentarily, the trampoline can snap back into the folded position and strike the consumer, posing a risk of serious injury.

The round, black minitrampoline measures 36 inches across and has six 7 1/2-inch long metal legs. The minitrampoline is used for in-place jogging and other cardiovascular exercises. Most minitrampolines that have model numbers containing 35-1625 are included in the recall. Model 35-1625C and 35-1625CW units are not included in the recall. The model number along with the customer service and serial numbers are stamped on a black-and-white label on one of the legs containing the name "Stamina."

Wal-Mart, Play It Again Sports, and other retail outlets and online sellers, including Wal-Mart.com, sold the minitrampolines from August 2000 through March 2006 for about $20.

Consumers should not assemble or disassemble these minitrampolines until they have the revised assembly instructions. Consumers should contact Stamina immediately for new instructions.

Massaging bed rests

Brookstone Company Inc. is recalling about 35,500 foldable massaging bed rests with heat. Electrical circuits within the bed rest can overheat, causing the back side of the product to overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard.

The recalled bed rest is designed to support a person sitting in bed. It is beige and consists of a back, two foldable armrests with a cup holder and massage controls, and a headrest with a reading light attached. "Imported by Brookstone Company" is printed on a tag attached to the bed rest. The massaging bed rest also provides heat at a single setting. A curly beige cord is attached to the back lower left corner of the bed rest. On some of the bed rests, "SKU NO: 431254" is printed on a round metal plate where the curly beige cord plugs into the bed rest. "Brookstone" is printed on the beige plug-in transformer that attaches to the beige cord.

Brookstone retail and outlet stores nationwide, Brookstone Web site, Brookstone catalogs, Amazon.com and borderfree.com sold the bed rests from April 2004 through January 2006 for about $125.
