Monday, April 10, 2006

For the "Stop Genocide on Darfur" rally that takes place April 30 in Washington, D.C., buses with the Pittsburgh Darfur Emergency Coalition will leave the city at 7 that morning and return to Pittsburgh that evening. The round-trip cost is $31 per person.

Reservations will be accepted until April 21, but space is limited and seats are filled as paid for. Book online at www.pittsburghdarfur.org or send a check payable to "Thomas Merton Center" with "Darfur Rally" on the memo line to Thomas Merton Center, Darfur Coalition, 5125 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh 15224. For reservations, call 412-361-3022.

The bus will leave from a parking-accessible East End location -- probably Squirrel Hill. For more information, call 412-371-9447 or e-mail jumphook@aol.com.

The rally will feature prominent political figures, faith leaders, human rights activists, entertainers, journalists and thousands of others who support a stronger multinational force to protect the civilians of Darfur.
