Penn Brewery will not hold its Pennsylvania Microbrewers Fest this year -- that could be considered the bad news.
But the good news is, the place still is throwing a June bash: A blowout to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

From noon to midnight on Saturday, June 3, the North Side brewery and restaurant will celebrate with live music, tours and other frivolity, even "new beers to try," teases its Web site.
Owner Tom Pastorius will only say that he plans to serve up a special anniversary bock.
Founded on March 3, 1986, the brewery now is in the midst of a half-million-dollar expansion that will increase its capacity by 100 percent. Mr. Pastorius says that with the new bottling line and new tanks installed earlier this month, "We just have too much going on in this little space right now" to hold the festival, which ran for 11 straight summers. Last year, more than 2,500 beer aficionados attended and had a chance to sample the some 100 brews made by 34 brewers.
Mr. Pastorius has rescheduled the 12th fest for June 2, 2007. For details see www.pennbrew.com.
