Anne Martindale Williams, of Upper St. Clair, and Emily Fogoros, of Mt. Lebanon, will be among 14 local women and girls to be honored April 25 during Girl Scouts-Trillium Council's 2006 Women and Girls of Distinction Awards reception at the Hilton Pittsburgh.

Ms. Williams has enjoyed a career as principal cellist of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra since 1979. She divides her time among the orchestra, teaching at Carnegie Mellon and Duquesne universities, and giving solo and chamber music performances around the world.

Emily, a 13-year member of Troop 1610, has exhibited strong leadership skills in her troop and her community.

Jeff and Barb Kruman, franchise owners of Bruster's Real Ice Cream in Dormont, received the national Operator of the Year award during an annual franchisee meeting in Atlanta in February.

The Krumans, of Moon, were selected from among more than 200 operators in Bruster's system. PEOPLE
