The city planning commission yesterday voted to wait two weeks before approving a zoning change of three residential parcels in Point Breeze.
The properties -- 100 East End Ave. and 103 and 107 Braddock Ave. -- have been part of a contentious effort by Walgreens to locate a two-lane drive-thru where three homes now sit.
The properties need to be rezoned for the pharmacy chain to demolish the homes. The Walgreens drug store is proposed to occupy property already zoned commercial at Braddock and Penn Avenues. A vacant gasoline station sits there now.
The commission will vote on the proposed change on April 4. Its recommendation will then be considered by City Council.
