Lee Mays will get another shot at making the Steelers' 53-man roster, even if it is a slim one.
Mays, a wide receiver and former sixth-round draft choice in 2002, was signed to a one-year contract yesterday and will appear in his fifth consecutive training camp with the Steelers.
It is not known if the decision to sign Mays, who has 11 catches for 154 yards in four years, will affect the Steelers' desire to talk with veteran receiver Tim Dwight, an unrestricted free agent with the New England Patriots.
The Steelers talked to Dwight's agent last week about making a visit, but nothing was scheduled as of yesterday.
Mays was with the Steelers in training camp last season but was released Sept 6.
He was re-signed on January 10 when receiver/kick returner Quincy Morgan's leg was broken in a playoff victory in Cincinnati, though he was inactive for the remaining three playoff games, including the Super Bowl.
