Steelers sign Tuman, make other moves
Wednesday, March 15, 2006

The Steelers have reached a contract agreement with Jerame Tuman, their free agent tight end, today.

Terms were not immediately available. Tuman has been with the Steelers for six seasons and was No. 2 behind rookie Heath Miller last season.

They also came to terms with their veteran backup offensive tackle Barrett Brooks, an unrestricted free agent, and signed first-year fullback Brandon Joe.

In one more move, they claimed veteran fullback Doug Easlick off waivers from San Francisco.

Center Jeff Hartings, who had one year left on his contract, previously agreed to a reduction in his $4.75 million compensation due this year and also extended his contract by one season through 2007.
