Point Breeze: Walgreens plan reviewed
Monday, March 13, 2006

A plan that would allow a proposed Walgreens store to build a driveway in Point Breeze will come up for a public hearing and possibly a city planning commission vote March 21, planning staff said.

Paradise Development has asked that three lots near Penn and Braddock avenues be changed from residential to commercial zoning, which would permit the driveway.

The commission held a briefing on the matter, and its new members requested records of prior meetings and hearings on the subject.

City Planner Susan Tymoczko said that after a commission vote, Pittsburgh City Council would hold its own public hearing and vote on the change. Council makes final zoning decisions.
