COPENHAGEN, Denmark -- Copenhagen's famed amusement park Tivoli plans to open for 10 days in the fall with a Halloween theme to coincide with students' weeklong fall holiday.
The downtown amusement park is currently open from mid-April to mid-September.
Since 1994, Tivoli also has been open for a brief Yule season in December with booths selling Christmas decoration and rides being open.
In 2005, 3.2 million people visited the downtown park during the summer period and 1 million people passed the gates in December.
The new 10-day season, starting Oct. 13, will have Halloween as a theme. Tivoli was built in 1843, on the ramparts that once surrounded medieval Copenhagen. The Danish capital has since grown around Tivoli, one of the world's oldest amusement parks.
