Photos displayed in City-County Building for Black History Month
Thursday, February 16, 2006

From a shot of the just-departed Coretta Scott King breaking into song to one of late ward chairman Euzell "Bubby" Hairston gazing on Homewood, 40 photos on display in the City-County Building commemorate the history of black America, locally and nationally.

The photographs, from the Pittsburgh Courier's archives, will hang in the lobby through Feb. 28.

February is Black History Month. In its honor, Citiparks will show the documentary film "One Shot: The Life and Work of Teenie Harris" at Jefferson Recreation Center in the Central North Side at 6 p.m. today; at Warrington center in Beltzhoover at 6 p.m. tomorrow; at Paulson center in Lincoln-Lemington at 7 p.m. Tuesday; and at Brookline center at 6 p.m. Feb. 24.
