County suspends 2 employees arrested for drug trafficking
Wednesday, December 28, 2005

Allegheny County has suspended two employees who were charged last week with involvement in prescription drug trafficking.

John Good, a guard at the county jail, and Timothy Huck, an attendant at the county's Downtown garage, are accused of participating in a scheme to sell more than 21,000 tablets of OxyContin, a powerful narcotic painkiller.

Mr. Good, 33, who has worked at the jail for about a decade, was arrested on charges of drug possession and conspiracy when he reported for work Thursday. He was freed on $50,000 bond, and the jail immediately suspended him without pay, said Lance Bohn, deputy warden of operations.

Mr. Huck, 38, was charged with insurance fraud and later released on $10,000 unsecured bond. His suspension, also without pay, officially started yesterday, according to Kevin Evanto, spokesman for county Chief Executive Dan Onorato.

Dr. L. Alan Egleston, an emergency room physician at Aliquippa Community Hospital, is accused of writing phony prescriptions for a group of seven people, including Mr. Good and Mr. Huck, arrested by narcotics agents last week.
