Pittsburghers involved in New York theater and related arts gathered on a traffic island in New York City's Times Square last week in celebration of the flow of talent from Pittsburgh to the national scene. Here, they listen as Post-Gazette drama editor Christopher Rawson uses a University of Pittsburgh megaphone to give directions for making a group photo.

Just above the megaphone, wearing a red beret, is Anne Kaufman Schneider, daughter of famed playwright George S. Kaufman, Pittsburgh's first great gift to the theater, whose birthday is Nov. 16.

But to learn more, you'll have to wait until Sunday, when a full-page version of the group shot will appear in print on the cover of the PG's Sunday Magazine section, and you'll be able to read about the 238 Pittsburghers who attended.

The online version of the package will feature the group photos and stories, plus video and audio profiles of some of the people who attended, including the last surviving cast member of H.G. Wells' "War of the Worlds" and an East Liberty actor about to make an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
