A South Side conservation group has been lauded and recognized for its ecology-minded building with the presentation of the U.S. Green Building Council's highest rating for environmentally friendly construction.

Conservation Consultants Inc. Center, 64 S. 14th St., received the council's gold rating for leadership in energy and environmental design for its innovative and earth-friendly construction.
