Saturday, November 12, 2005
The Pirates yesterday officially announced that John Shelby will be the fourth member of manager Jim Tracy's coaching staff.

Shelby, 47, is the third member of Tracy's Los Angeles Dodgers coaching staff to join him with the Pirates.

Tracy will be the Pirates' first-base coach and work with their outfielders. He joins former Dodgers coaches Jim Colborn (pitching) and Jim Lett (bench) on the staff. Bobby Cuellar, who was Class AAA Rochester's pitching coach in 2005, will be the Pirates' bullpen coach.
