Kevin Rombach, a third-string quarterback who started because of injuries to Scott Knapp and Ben Palumbo, completed 12 of 15 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns as Duquesne (6-3) defeated visiting La Salle (3-7), 56-14, yesterday.

The Dukes (6-3) won their 37th consecutive conference game and seventh consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship.

Travis Taltoan had seven catches for 120 yards and a touchdown and Jeremy McCullough rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns.

Edinboro 41, Lock Haven 3: Edinboro (8-2, 6-1) clinched a share of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division title with California as Justin Bouch (Highlands) passed for 243 yards and three touchdowns. Bids to the NCAA Division II playoffs will be offered today.

Carnegie Mellon 30, Bethany 15: Carnegie Mellon (5-4) clinched its 31st consecutive non-losing season as Travis Sivek rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns.

Washington & Jefferson 32, Thomas More 15: No. 17 W&J (9-1) kept alive hope for a bid to the NCAA Division III playoffs as Chris Edwards passed for 373 yards and four touchdowns.

Geneva 29, Ohio Dominican 28: The Golden Tornadoes (7-3) won their fourth consecutive game as Justin Sciarro threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Bam Harmon with 14 seconds left.

Thiel 21, Buffalo State 3: Darrell Satterfield passed for 261 yards and touchdowns of 24 and 67 yards to Brandon Chambers for the Tomcats (9-0), ranked 19th in NCAA Division III.

Albany 20, Robert Morris 17: The Colonials (2-7, 1-5 Northeast) lost their seventh consecutive road game as Brett Hall scored on a 2-yard run with 2:57 remaining for the Danes (4-5, 1-5).
