Art

Castle Shannon -- A closing reception for winners and jurors of the 2005 First Fridays Juried Art Exhibition, held in conjunction with Mt. Lebanon's recent First Fridays series, will be held 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday, Creation Art Studio, 3833 Willow Ave.. Call 412-344-3597.

Homestead -- Adapting Africa: African vs. African-Inspired Clothing Styles, an exhibit of creations by Ghanaian artist Dosina "Dee" Blemahdoo, will open with a reception, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, at artspace 303 gallery, 303 E. Blood drive

Mt. Lebanon -- Amy's Army, a team of volunteers that hosts bone marrow donor screening drives to find a match for Amy Katz, 12, of Mt. Lebanon, who has chronic myelogenous leukemia, will sponsor a blood and bone marrow drive, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 6, Mt. Lebanon Christian Church, Cedar Boulevard and Hollycrest Drive. Bethel Park -- U.S. Navy Jazz Band Commodores will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Bethel Park High School auditorium, 309 Church St. The concert is free but donations will be accepted to aid the American Red Cross in its various relief efforts. Call 412-854-2534.

Peters -- A benefit dance for Jake Lannin, 4, who has leukemia, needs a bone marrow transplant and has developed a life-threatening infection on his arm and in his lungs, will be held 6-11 p.m. Nov. 5, Peters Township Fire Hall, East McMurray Road. The infection was blamed on toxic mold in his family's home, which had been flooded after Hurricane Ivan. Proceeds will help to pay for mold remediation so that the house can be sold. Tickets: $20. South Park -- The fourth annual Ronald Rivera Memorial Dash for Dogs and Cats will take place 9 a.m. Saturday, rain or shine, in South Park Fairgrounds.
