Art

Castle Shannon -- A closing reception for winners and jurors of the 2005 First Fridays Juried Art Exhibition, held in conjunction with Mt. Lebanon's recent First Fridays series, will be held 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday, Creation Art Studio, 3833 Willow Ave.. Call 412-344-3597.

Homestead -- Adapting Africa: African vs. African-Inspired Clothing Styles, an exhibit of creations by Ghanaian artist Dosina "Dee" Blemahdoo, will open with a reception, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, at artspace 303 gallery, 303 E. Bazaars and festivals

Bethel Park -- South Hills Assembly will hold Harvest Fest 2005, an evening of fun for children in grade 6 and younger, 6-9 p.m. Monday, with cotton candy, games, inflatibles, Sno-cones and more. Call 412-835-8900, ext. 111.

Carrick -- Spencer United Methodist Church, 117 Spencer Ave., will hold its Fall Bazaar and Country Store, 3-8 p.m. next Thursday. A Swiss steak dinner will be available, 5-7 p.m., by reservation only. Tickets for dinner: $8 adults; $3 children younger than 12. Call 412-881-4000.

Blood drive

Mt. Lebanon -- Amy's Army, a team of volunteers that hosts bone marrow donor screening drives to find a match for Amy Katz, 12, of Mt. Lebanon, who has chronic myelogenous leukemia, will sponsor a blood and bone marrow drive, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 6, Mt. Lebanon Christian Church, Cedar Boulevard and Hollycrest Drive. Crafts

Peters -- Women's Association of Center Presbyterian Church, 255 Center Church Road, will sponsor a craft fair, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.

Dancing

Duquesne -- The Western Pennsylvania Slovak Radio Hour's 23rd annual dinner dance will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, with a buffet, 5:30 p.m., Masonic Hall Association of Duquesne, Clonmel Street, near Kennywood Park. Cost: $35. Reservations requested. Call 412-421-1204.

Dormont -- Dormont AARP Chapter 3016 will hold a pancake and sausage brunch with a bake sale and book sale, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Dormont Presbyterian Church, 2865 Espy Ave. Cost: $5 adults; $1.75 children younger than 10.

Dormont -- Dormont United Methodist Church, 1641 Potomac Ave., will hold a pork-hot dog-sauerkraut dinner with a dessert table, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets: $8 adults; $3.50 children 12 and younger.

Entertainment

Bethel Park -- U.S. Navy Jazz Band Commodores will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Bethel Park High School auditorium, 309 Church St. The concert is free but donations will be accepted to aid the American Red Cross in its various relief efforts. Call 412-854-2534.

Bethel Park -- The Bethel Presbyterian Church Concert Series will present the West Hills Symphonic Band, 7:30 p.m. Sunday, 2999 Bethel Church Road. Free-will contributions will be accepted.

Mt. Lebanon -- "In the Mood," a musical review of the 1940s, will present a Music for Mt. Lebanon concert at Mt. Lebanon High School auditorium at 8 p.m. Nov. 5, featuring a 14-piece big band orchestra, the String of Pearls singers and costumed dancers. Tickets: $20; $25. Call 724-941-9490.

Baldwin Borough -- Baldwin-Whitehall Youth Football/Cheerleading Association's second annual Monte Carlo/Night at the Races and ticket auction, 7:30 p.m.-midnight, Salvatore's catering hall, 5001 Curry Road, will feature cash giveaways every hour. Peters -- A benefit dance for Jake Lannin, 4, who has leukemia, needs a bone marrow transplant and has developed a life-threatening infection on his arm and in his lungs, will be held 6-11 p.m. Nov. 5, Peters Township Fire Hall, East McMurray Road. The infection was blamed on toxic mold in his family's home, which had been flooded after Hurricane Ivan. Proceeds will help to pay for mold remediation so that the house can be sold. Tickets: $20. South Park -- The fourth annual Ronald Rivera Memorial Dash for Dogs and Cats will take place 9 a.m. Saturday, rain or shine, in South Park Fairgrounds. A 5K race (for people only) and 2-mile dog walk will start at 9:10 a.m. Participants can dress their animals in creative Halloween costumes for prizes; all dogs must be on leashes.
