The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is seeking comments on proposed changes to field dressing fish that would require anglers to take entrails with them, unless they are in water more than 100 feet from shore or have landowner permission.
The commission is expected to vote on the change at its January meeting and is taking public input. The proposal came out of the commission's decision to license charter captains and fishing guides.

Erie update
Though the stop sign at the Walnut Creek access area in Erie is large enough to be spotted from Manchester Road, anglers are still failing to stop, usually because they're too busy looking at the creek, according to Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission officer Randy Leighton.
A number of other violations are being issued, including 56 on a recent Saturday, when anglers were cited mostly for snagging of fish, which is a particular problem when conditions are low and clear, as they have been so far this fall, Leighton said.
Ethics offer
A high school curriculum developed by the Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Studies is being made available to teachers and others to introduce youth to concepts in environmental ethics.
The seven-part, 60-minute video series profiles 17 Goldman Environmental Prize winners whose stories challenge students to explore their own attitudes towards man's relationship to the natural world. About 1,000 videos and teacher and student guides will be made available free of charge, and also can be purchased for $29.95 from a documentary film distributor, The Video Project.

Erie Bluff's meeting
A third public meeting on the development of Erie Bluff's State Park in western Erie County is slated for 7 p.m. Dec. 7 in the Girard High School auditorium in Girard Township, according to township supervisor Bill Felege. He said angler interests are part of the planning process for the property along the lake.
