SCHOOL: Woodland Hills
WHO IS HE? Farrish is only 5 feet 7, 175 pounds, but the junior running back has given a big lift to the Woodland Hills' offense.
LAST WEEK: Farrish rushed for 177 yards and scored two touchdowns in a 35-7 victory against Penn-Trafford.
SEASON: Woodland Hills is 5-0, and Farrish has been one of the main reasons for the Wolverines' perfection. He has rushed for 753 yards on 115 carries and scored 12 touchdowns.
LITTLE WORKHORSE: Farrish had 38 carries against Penn-Trafford. That's a hard night's work for a 5-7 halfback, and Woodland Hills coach George Novak could remember only one other halfback in Woodland Hills history who carried the ball so much. "I remember Melvin Cobbs [in the mid-1990s] having about 35 carries in one game," said Novak, the only coach in Woodland Hills' history. "I went straight home after the game and went right to sleep," Farrish said. "Then I got up the next morning and just took a hot bath."
SIZE DOESN'T MATTER: Farrish's size hasn't stopped him from achieving big things. He tore up the competition on the JV level last year and became Woodland Hills' featured varsity back in a WPIAL Class AAAA quarterfinal against Gateway, rushing for 109 yards. "My dad is 6-3 and my mom is 5-7," said Farrish, called "Beast" by his teammates. "Doctors used to tell me I'd get big. I never did."

SCHOOL: Jeannette.
WHO IS SHE?: The leading goal-scorer in WPIAL girls' soccer this season. She had 37 going into a non-section match last night against East Allegheny.
THE PAST WEEK: A senior forward, Morrison registered both goals Wednesday in a 2-0 victory against Waynesburg. She scored five Monday in a 7-1 victory against Carmichaels and five Saturday in a 7-3 triumph at Geibel.
SEASON: Entering play last night, Morrison had two six-goal games and three five-goal games. She is the main reason the Jayhawks (8-2-1, 7-2-1 through Wednesday) are in contention for a playoff berth in Section 1-AA.
CAREER: Morrison's final goal Monday was her 100th. "I was extremely proud to get that," she said. "It was a goal of mine." Morrison is a three-year starter who missed her sophomore season because of knee surgery.
STRONG ALL-AROUND: Jeannette coach Lou Conte said Morrison "obviously has great skills. She has good speed and is very deceptive with her moves."
SISTER STORY: Until this year, Morrison had been a teammate of her sister, Jennilee. Both started playing soccer in kindergarten. Jennilee is a freshman starter at St. Francis (Pa.)
HOOP-LA: A soccer goal isn't the only net at which Morrison shoots. She has been the starting point guard on the Jeannette girls' basketball team since she was a freshman.
