Baby bottle caps

Bradshaw International Inc. is recalling about 500,000 "Bottle Sippers" pull-up bottle caps. The pull-up valve can detach from the cap, posing a choking hazard to young children.

The recalled bottle sippers have white screw-on bases with dark blue, green or red pull-up valves. They are sold in packages of three. The package is labeled "Bottle Sippers." Bradshaw International Inc. and #70118 are written on the back of the package.

The bottle sipper caps were sold at grocery stores nationwide from January 2002 through August 2005 for about $2 per package.

Consumers should return the bottle sippers to the store where purchased for a refund.

Gas grills

The Brinkmann Corp. is recalling about 130,000 Brinkmann-brand and Charmglow-brand gas grills. The regulators on these gas grills, the component that controls the amount of gas released to the burner, could leak gas when attached to certain liquid propane tanks. This poses a risk of fire and burn injuries.

The recall involves Brinkmann-brand and Charmglow-brand gas grills. The regulator is attached to the side of the grills. Only grills that have regulators with the name "GDA" are affected by this recall. The grills have three to six burners and the name "Brinkmann" or "Charmglow" on the lid.

Home centers, sporting goods and hardware stores sold the grills from January through September for between $150 and $900.

Consumers with grills that have the "GDA" regulator should contact Brinkmann to receive a free repair kit or replacement hose regulator assembly.

Call Brinkmann toll-free at 1-800-675-5301 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday. Consumers also can log on to the company's Web site at www.brinkmann.net to request a repair kit.

Makita chain saws

Makita U.S.A. Inc. is recalling about 3,400 chain saws. The flywheels on some of the chain saws can come apart during use, which could cause serious personal injury.

The recall involves Makita DCS6401 and DCS7901-model chain saws in which the last five digits of the serial numbers are within the following ranges: DCS6401 41915 through 45612 and 81722 through 82057; and DCS7901 31182 through 31491.

The chain saw's housing is teal with the name "Makita" written on it. The chain saw's serial number can be found on the right hand side of the silver nameplate, which is located on the back of the fuel tank. No other Makita chain saws are involved in the recall. Any DCS6401 or DCS7901 chain saws with the letter "N" preceding the serial number on the nameplate and a blue dot on the shipping carton have been repaired and are not involved in the recall.

Outdoor power equipment distributors and industrial contractor supply houses sold these chain saws from October through August for between $520 and $730.

Consumers should contact Makita to arrange for a free repair. Known purchasers were sent direct mail notification of this recall.

Dolmar chain saws

Dolmar Power Products is recalling about 1,300 chain saws. The flywheels on some of the chain saws may come apart during use, which could cause serious personal injury.

The recall involves Dolmar PS6400 and PS7900-model chain saws in which the last five digits of the serial numbers are within the following ranges: Model PS6400 71998 through 79250 and Model PS7900 40156 through 43009.

The chain saw's housing is "warm red" with "DOLMAR" written on it. The chain saw's serial number can be found on the right hand side of the silver nameplate which is located on the back of the fuel tank. No other DOLMAR chain saws are involved in the recall. Any PS6400 or PS7900 chain saws with the letter "N" preceding the serial number on the nameplate and a blue dot on the shipping carton have been repaired and are not involved in the recall.

Outdoor power equipment distributors and industrial suppliers sold these chain saws from October through August for between $570 and $750.

Consumers should contact Dolmar to arrange for a free repair. Known purchasers were sent direct mail notification of this recall.
