Calliope moves to Center for Arts
Wednesday, September 14, 2005

Calliope: The Pittsburgh Folk Music Society is the newest tenant at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Shadyside. The PCA and Calliope signed a five-year agreement that gives the non-profit presenter of folk and roots music access to three office suites and a meeting space on the third floor of the Marshall Mansion on the PCA campus. The space will be used by three full-time and one part-time employees.

Calliope School classes in music and folk arts will continue to be held at Chatham College, and Calliope-sponsored concerts will remain at Carnegie Lecture Hall and Carnegie Music Hall.

Calliope's former offices were at the South Side's Bedford Square.

"This is a big deal for us," Calliope managing director Patricia Tanner said. "We've very excited about the possibility of partnering with some of the PCA's other tenants on specific projects."
