The parents of a man killed by a hit-and-run driver pleaded yesterday for the driver to go to the police.
"I want to make a plea to the person who hit my son," said Judy Schaltenbrand, the victim's mother. "We know you're afraid. But we need to have closure."
David Schaltenbrand, 37, of Shaler, was struck by a car as he crossed Mount Royal Boulevard around 2 a.m. Sunday. He died from extensive head injuries at 5:50 a.m. at Allegheny General Hospital.
Schaltenbrand leaves behind a 4-year-old son, also named David.
Meanwhile, police continue to look for a dark-colored Chevrolet PT Cruiser, which witnesses described as the vehicle that hit Schaltenbrand.
Anyone with information is asked to call Shaler Police at 412-473-3731.
