ERIE -- Matt Bailie of the Double-A Bowie Baysox pitched a no-hitter yesterday in a 5-0 victory over the Erie SeaWolves.

Bailie (1-1) allowed just two batters to reach base, walking Jack Hannahan in the fifth inning and hitting Byron Gettis with a pitch in the eighth.

The game was the 29-year-old Bailie's second start since the Baysox picked him up last week from the Schaumburg (Ill.) Flyers of the independent Northern League.

In his first start, he gave up six earned runs and eight hits in 3 1/3 innings in a loss to Altoona on Tuesday.

Nick Markakis hit a three-run triple for Bowie. Adam Peterson (3-3) took the loss.
