Fund-raiser nets $1,600
Uniforms for Zambia, a Mt. Lebanon High School freshman's project to turn people's unwanted stuff into school uniforms for children, has wired $1,600 to Africa.
Caylin McKee, the organizer of the project, has a chance to see how her efforts will help Zambian children. She is planning a two-week trip there via Zurich, Switzerland, where she'll first meet the officer of the Zambezi Environmental Education Camp, the program that brings students from Europe and North America to Zambia.
McKee thinks the program was a success, all in all. "Hopefully, I can continue with it when I get back, especially since it will mean so much more after I have seen how much it helps the children there," she said.
