People on the Move

Profile of the Week

Diane M. Pearson

•  Job: Certified financial planner, shareholder and director of financial planning, Legend Financial Advisors.

•  Age: 40

•  Ambitions: I would like to know that I have made a difference in the lives of my family, friends, co-workers and clients.

•  First job: Lifeguard

•  Hardest job/why?: My first job out of college was with a personnel agency. The structure of the organization and the management style of the owner were very rigid. We based our activities on 15-minute increments that started and stopped with Muzak. It felt as though we were being treated as Pavlov's dogs.

•  Biggest work challenge ever: The start-up phase of Legend Financial Advisors. There were so many new concepts to be learned and implemented and many mistakes to be made.

•  Favorite stock/mutual fund: Leuthold Core Investment Fund

•  Away from work I: Participate in a women's ice hockey league. I also enjoy my children's baseball and ice hockey games.

•  Dream vacation: Greek Isles or Galapagos Islands

•  Favorite book: "When Genius Failed" by Roger Lowenstein

•  If I won the Lottery, I'd: Like to provide financial support to my family and social capital to the organizations that have supported me and my family.
