Sunday, June 19, 2005

A West Virginia couple died yesterday when their motorcycle collided with a minivan in Rostraver.

Albert Strigle, 63, and his wife, Carolyn Strigle, 62, of Dunbar, were killed. She was taken by helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Albert Strigle also was flown to Allegheny General in serious condition and later died, state police said.

The motorcycle collided with a Dodge Caravan driven by Aimee Harvie of Mays Landing, N.J., who was not injured.

Police said the crash occurred about 3:45 p.m. in Rostraver as the motorcycle was attempting to merge on to eastbound state Route 70 from state Route 51. Albert Strigle, the driver, lost control and the motorcycle collided with the Caravan, which was heading east on Route 70, police said.
